Can I appeal to builders and developers to have a heart and be sympathetic to the heritage that we are proud of in LLandudno . We see 'developers'demolishing our heritage on the West Shore and Mostyn Estates happily sitting on a 'developement' for months and months. I refer ,of course, to the ''tasteful transformation' of Pen Morfa and the deliberate lack of progress on the former RAFA Club site. Mostyn Estates, who choose not to delay the RAFA site should be ashamed. The RAFA Club was a community resource Mostyn's 'development' on its site has been stalled . Mostyn Estates used to play its part in preserving the town now it behaves like any other 'flat' developer . Perhaps we should encourage the politicians knocking at our doors at present to take planning seriously and stand up to Mostyn Estates and its ilk.

So cllr Barry Owen was suspended for 12months a tribunal took two days to deliberate on the situation, they knew full well that county elections are due in a months time so now he's back out looking for votes,it makes a mockery of the system,if he does manage to get in again he should be fined 12 months pay in lue of the suspension.

dave rainford from mochdre 01:23:20 19 April 2008
what is going on in mochdre, we have a perfect area of green for the local lads to play football on opposit the top shop so what do the community council do, they waste money on a M.U.G.A.to be placed in the local park. Why waste so much money when all they need is a high fence around the area by the top shop, what they propose is a waste of money unless the green has been ear marked for houseing

mary from llandudno junction 16:16:29 18 April 2008
i would like to take this oppertunity to thank councillor mike priestley pc kevin taylor and all there coleges for all there hard work in taking the very big task of cleaning up the streets in llandudno junction on the 16th and 17th april they have done the junction proud without there help and effort it would have been impossible for people that are either elderly or have no transport to get rid of there rubbish or unwanted items to make use by recycling them they should be congratulated and i hope there project will continue in the near future

I was offended at the slant you took on the two BNP members gaining council. The way they achieved it is irrelevent, but the way you portrayed them to be racists and some kind of threat means you have a political side which as a newspaper you should not have. Leave the voting to the people, leave the advertising to the relevent parties; give us Political news without trying to influence our voting decisions.

I'd like to praise the Glan Clwyd Hospital security staff for being so helpful and supportive when my car was hit by a 4/4 vehicle in the hospital car park on February 28th.I had only popped into my office for a short while, and on returning to my car found it shunted a foot and half across the car park with £1600 pounds worth of damage..and needless to say,no details left! The security staff were quick to act and on scanning the cctv footage found the incident and the 4/4 driver quite literally ignoring what had happened, and furthermore parking on double yellow lines and going into the hospital. So,whilst folk are quite rightly complaining regarding the parking fees,I feel somewhat miffed that my going about my duties has now cost me £200 for an hour! My insurance company are still investigating, however, you know who you are...and thanks so much for that.

Jones from Deganwy 23:19:17 31 March 2008
Well aren't we in for a treat now the traffic wardens have new powers and the council can now fund to have more CCTV cameras put up! Not to catch criminals or to make us feel safe, no it's to find and fine the driver...again for parking. Surely, the traffic wardens already do a brilliant job of finding the car that has parked in a space for too long, or has been in the car park possibly 3 minutes over the allocated time. Why spend money on CCTV just to do that? Please don't have this new system be abused, use the money for a more worth while cause. We pay enough in council tax, improve other service instead!!!! For example increase bin collections from 2 weeks to once a week again! No matter how much is taken out and taken to the recycling bins at Tescos (Which is also generally full)we are still left with over flowing wheely bins! Can't the council just try and get it right and help rather than hinder??

Rogers from Conwy 22:58:31 31 March 2008
I was absolutely amazed when watching the local news that we now have police in Horse boxes at the side of the road! Yes, I agree that we should have police by the side of the road to be a deterant to speeding vehicles and dangerous drivers (both fast and slow), however is this not taking it all a bit too far and a bit embaressing and sneaky? What ever next?

A. Thomas from Llandudno 22:16:30 31 March 2008
Frankly I wish this North Wales obsession with speed would draw to a close. Theres so much more to safe driving than not exceeding the speed limit, yet the message fed to the general public seems to be that if you dont speed then youre a good driver. This may end up creating a generation of drivers whos attention is focused solely on their speedometers, rather than the road around them. Unrealistic speed limits take choices away from drivers meaning that a driver becomes little more than a drone unable to drive fast or overtake when conditions allow, and unable to slow down when theres danger ahead. This focus on speed by the police does have some positives though. If youre an uninsured driver, a drink driver, a tailgater, an unlicensed driver, or an MOT dodger then surely theres never been a better time to take to the road. After all, the likelihood of being stopped by a real policeman seems to be declining just as quickly as those hidden cameras seem to be breeding.

Nigel Evans from Colwyn Bay 23:40:46 23 March 2008
So Councillor Pattison has resigned from the BNP because he considers them racist.I suspose his next revelation will be to tell us the Pope is a Catholic

Andrew Currie from Abergynolwyn 22:37:10 13 March 2008
Last week, a letter from a driver quoted the reply from Arrive Alive's Inspector Ahari, when he was challenged about the parking of one of his speed camera vans on the footpath. Once you accept the fact that the Arrive Alive scheme is largely about making money rather than road safety, then such behaviour, and Ahari's attitude to it, is entirely consistent. Arrive Alive operators can park where they want. The position they choose might itself be the most significant hazard at the location! I have also seen an Arrive Alive operator drive away from a location at a speed which was more dangerous than the speed of the vehicles he had just been photographing. But police officers don't have to worry too much about how they drive because they aren't subject to the law in the same way as others are.

Can anyone tell me what is happening with St George's church, Church Walks, Llandudno it is such ashame it seems to be rotting away, the grounds are full of rubbish, i am asking because if nothing is being done maybe a community project could be organised to tidy it up, but i have no idea how to go about this. any answers will be gratefull receive.

Is it just me or does everyone else feel that, not all but many of the bus drivers on our roads are a danger to our lives.. Not only do we have the delightful coach drivers who slow down just to show their passengers where the new shops are.. but the rediculous actions of many of our local bus drivers is nothing more than damn right idiotic.. my personal favourite was watching a bus loaded with school children pull out of a bus stop by the rugby club in llandudno.. only to see the driver using his mobile phone.. Many have no regard for the road and drive around blind and in the view that they are driving something alot bigger than the rest of us..anyone agree??

Development ideas. The Llanrwst bypass idea raised concerns about lost trade. Take assembly funding! It will make this lovely town safer cleaner. Conwy reduced heavy traffic making shopping and sightseeing enjoyable. Secondly, build a Glan Conwy elevated bypass along the estuary before the 165 houses. A wonderful view for visitors, relief from heavy trucks for the people of this beautiful village. Next - the overdue assembly building. It must use geothermal, solar power, use local materials, collect rainwater and have it's own recycling system for the copious amounts of paper such offices produce. And, since this project has been idle for so long, the assembly should be 'fined' for every month it delays. Of course, the fines should go to St David's Hospice to make up for broken promises. Lastly, build the windfarm. NIMBIES use electricity made in coal burning plants which polute elsewhere. Pylons - not unlike turbines - deliver your power.

Whilst waiting in llysfaen i witnessed a council operative remove 2 bags out of a bin and place them on the floor then empty the bin into the collection lorry then walk of leaving said bags on floor. When i phoned the council office and asked if this was normal practice i was told if the lid does not close they are to remove bags from bin to do so which is fine except the bin concerned was not over full and the person who removed these bags had too bend into bin to retrieve them. In my mind they are doing one of the worst environmental issues in the fact this is nothing more than legalised fly tipping but when i said this to the person in there office she seemed to have the impression this was ok which really makes a farce of the they are so proud of.

J Westwood from Llandudno Junction 13:30:23 19 February 2008
Refuse and Recycling: Despite recycling plastic at the bins in Junction, and cans and bottles at the kerbside, with a five person household my bin is simply not big enough for a fortnightly collection. The refuse collectors simply leave the spare on the pavement, and then next fortnights bin is full by the end of the first week! I have no car and cardboard is not taken. Those with cars are using the skips at Mochdre to dump their rubbish and take larger items, but the rest of us have just been left with a second rate service. There is an obvious rise in the number of households simply buying another wheely bin as a way of avoiding the problem. I think the current system is very poor, and its no wonder that i have seen such a rise in fly-tipping by people who dont care..that was surely an obvious outcome of this half-measured approach to recycling by Conwy.

Fred Jones from Conwy 11:23:04 17 February 2008
I would like to complain about the actions of Darren Millar in last weeks paper. Whilst it is fine for an Assembly Member to question the Chief Constable privately, I wonder what his ends are in the publication of his letter? Is he trying to represent us or just publicising his own self-importance. The language and aggressive manner is wholly inappropriate and I would hope that he would reflect long and hard over his actions and come to realise that whilst that may work in his home town of Manchester, we tend to be far more honest with one another in North Wales.

Michael Norton from Deganwy 14:56:58 15 February 2008
Dear Sir To the I want a referdum organisation advertising in last week's edition I would like to ask where their approach will end? If we are to start government by referenda are we to bring back hanging, start torturing paedophiles and all be given the right to clip round the ear any child who is a bit cheeky to us? To those Conservatives who call for a referenda I am reminded of the cynical words of Disraeli I must follow the people. Am I not their leader? If they really wish to lead on this issue then let them stand in the next election on a platform of exiting the European Union whilst Labour holds to the advantages that it has provided, especially to this area of the country. From my own perspective, I think we pay politicians quite enough already for me to not have to do their job for them as well.

In reply to Eileen Armstrongs view of Parc Llandudno. Does she not know that the Parc has excellent facilities for parking, that just shows how popular it is to shop there. From a personal experience of shopping on the site, i have witnessed parking attendents and security helping an elderly lady who's car had broken down. It was a really cold day and she was invited to their office for a cup of tea whilst she waited for a recovery vehicle to arrive. That's what i call a service well provided for. There seems to be two parking attendents and quiet a lot of security guards on Parc Llandudno and i have never had a problem there even on the busiest of days.
