Time has come to ban horses on roads

I KNOW of many people including myself who believe that horses should not be ridden on public roads or footpaths.

They are hazardous and a huge inconvenience and since they are not a means of transport we should not have to endure it.

Horse riding is a pastime, a hobby or a way of spoiling the children which is fine on private land and fields. They do not pay road tax so why oh why do these people take their huge pet walkies amidst cars, buses, motorbikes, lorries not to mention cyclists and pedestrians.

Do they dismount when the animal deposits piles of dung on the ground, and clear it up?

Well NOT to my knowledge! The dog owner would be swooped upon and slapped with a fine, yet our pavements and roads are constantly covered in horse manure which is not only unsavoury but dangerous. Recently I witnessed a near collision on a road which is already a narrow road which buses have a struggle to get through .

A pedestrian had to walk round this gigantic mound of horse dung and was very nearly struck by a vehicle, the van coming the opposite direction came extremely close to hitting the wall, it was a miracle no one was hurt. The proud horse rider had long gone, and not just one but what looked like a family of four riding two abreast with a tail of angry motorists behind. .why is this allowed, it really is about time there was a law to stop this hobby taking place on our roads.
