I AM writing in response to a couple of letters in the July 9th edition of the paper regarding seagulls not being a menace.
It was funny to see that both letters were written by people who don’t actually live in Llandudno and don’t deal with the problem on a daily basis.
The seagulls are a constant menace to everyone in the town.
Frightening to people who get attacked by them when they steal food from your hands and they create more litter than we do by ripping open bin bags left out for collection.
I have been a shop manager in Llandudno for 5 years and they are probable the one thing that annoys people the most about the town.
I am now a manager in Rhyl and the problem here is probable worse than in Llandudno. Seagulls are vermin.
Yes they are intelligent but the are in much bigger numbers now than ever before we have helped them achieve these numbers when nature would not have allowed them to.
We should bring the culling that we saw in previous years and bring them back to a reasonable level when they would not have to cause havoc to survive.
