Festival not to blame

WITH reference to the story: Fly tippers making a mess of a world heritage site July 9th by Richard Evans.

I write on behalf of the North Wales Bluegrass Festival Committee. We were dismayed and saddened with the link to the above article, and the Bluegrass Festival held on the 2nd to the 5th July 2009 on the Cricket Ground in Bodlondeb Park, Conwy. Our campers left the cricket ground spotless, and as in every previous year we ordered and paid for a cage for refuse, and Conwy Borough County Council also provided bottle banks.

The article implies directly that the festival goers were responsible for 'rubbish dumped around the castle walls.'

Our annual visitors to Conwy are also 'passionate about' Conwy, and they give the town a much needed early boost to tourism.

We trust that you can rectify any misconception in your next article.
