We need to be positive in Llanrwst

ISN’T is about time the councillors of Llanrwst showed a more positive approach to events in the town instead of continually moaning?

Two items in your paper last week show a completely negative attitude.

The flood defence scheme will protect people from the devastation of major flooding.

Of course there will be disruption but surely we should be thanking the Environment Agency for slotting this work in between the Easter/Whitsun holidays and the summer break.

How much worse would it have been to have the work carried out in August?

The loss of the children’s play area is very sad – but how much worse if it had been left in an unsafe condition and a child had been injured, or worse, killed? There are millions of pounds out there in grant money available for just such projects as this. Why don’t the town council, the business and community group or Llais Llanrwst take this on and find funding to replace this playground.

There is a very true saying that I have always tried to live by - “It’s no good complaining about the dark - you have to light a candle”!
