It is just ‘sheer ignorance’

I AM writing to express my disappointment and shock that parents are protesting against the consideration of Welsh medium education at an age when children will just soak it up.

Why on earth would they wish to deny their children the chance to be bilingual?

Why are they protesting when they live in Wales?

I was absolutely shocked and saddened by such a small minded and ignorant attitude.

I do not speak Welsh but am ensuring that my children will be raised bilingually.

This will give them every opportunity and experience of the beautiful country and culture that they are fortunate enough to live in.

How sad other parents wish to deny that for their children.

Sheer ignorance.

Conversely if you look in Llanfairfechan there are a considerable number of parents driving their children to a school in Bangor to ensure they have a Welsh medium education.

If Penmaenmawr Councillors are sensible enough to make this decision I am sure there are plenty of families who would welcome such a positive change.
