THE writer of the anonymous letter criticising a community toilet scheme in Llandudno clearly does not know what he is talking about.
It is an initiative of Llandudno Town Council and there was never any intention to make the scheme compulsory. It is by invitation only.
Minister for local government Phil Woollas says the idea of a community scheme is a positive step towards addressing the issue of a lack of public toilets.
The programme allows pubs, restaurants, stores and shops to work with the council to make safe, accessible toilets available to the public during their opening hours.
Participating premises display a sign and allow people free access without a need to make a purchase. A visit to Richmond Borough Council showed how much the venture is appreciated by all.
