Lady Boys of Bangkok is a highlight of Rhyl Pavilion's autumn programme

Bangkok Lady Boys

THE renowned Lady Boys of Bangkok are heading to Rhyl Pavilion with their Mile High tour as part of a line-up of stars for the autumn.

It includes Freddie Starr on October 23, Joe Pasquale on November 1, Jim Davidson on November 10 and Stephen K Amos on November 30.

The venue welcomes back from America The Stylistics on November 3 and the evergreen Des O’Connor on November 14.

Andy Cave, one of the UK’s top climbers and figurehead for British mountaineering, gives a presentation on November 4.

Fans of The X Factor will be pleased to learn that JLS will be at the Pavilion on January 26-27.

The Ladyboys arrive in Rhyl on November 23 when 16 of the world’s most beautiful showgirls (who just happen to be men!) blaze a spectacular jet-stream of fun and glamour as they glide from the disco floor to the Broadway stage.

The new high-altitude production is even glitzier and more glamorous than ever.

It’s pure entertainment, from the show-stopping choreography to the 400- plus fabulous designer-inspired hand- made costumes, or the immaculate make-up to the sheer style and effervescence of the performance.

The feel-good factor has never felt better, from Riverdance to Dirty Dancing, from Katy Perry to Tina Turner, the audience will be dancing in the aisles.

Already established as the headliner show at the Edinburgh Fringe and the Brighton Fringe, the Lady Boys started touring UK theatres two years ago, entrancing and entertaining new audiences who might not have had the opportunity to join in the fun.

Executive producer Carol Gandey said the Lady Boys of Bangkok were returning to the UK for an 11th successive year because of public demand.

This year’s theatre tour extends from Inverness to Torquay and across from Cardiff to Great Yarmouth.

She added the show was a great favourite with hen parties and office outings.

"Lady Boys of Bangkok audiences are predominantly women," said Carol.

"Many are on a girls’ night out, a real break away from everyday life."

Artistic director Phillip Gandey added: "Although I’m sure many of the ladies are quite jealous of the Lady Boys’ figures and total lack of cellulite, they don’t feel intimidated by them."

He said the Mile High tour highlights would range from classic movie love songs to iconic hits, from Kyle Minogue to Whitney Houston.
