SINGER Charlie Landsborough is a one off.
And the singer is looking forward to performing once more in Llandudno.
"It’s a smashing venue and I get a great response and it’s a lovely place.
"I’ve got a great band with me and this time around I get to travel with my wife and son. The family travel with me in a motor home and it’s great because when I have a day off we visit a caravan site."
Although he didn’t taste fame until in his 50s, his rise was meteoric and since his first big hit, What Colour Is the Wind, he has never looked back.
Charlie Landsborough is a performer who is difficult to categorise, sometimes folk, sometimes country, sometimes rock ‘n’ roll, sometimes gospel. If you go into a music shop, you may find Charlie’s music in the country or the easy listening section but this belies the nature of a man who is uncomfortable with labels but spans various musical forms.
As well as various music venues, Charlie has recently enjoyed performing on a cruise ship: "There were 49 acts so the ship was awash with music, it was great. I stopped at places I never dreamt I’d visit and we started and finished in Monte Carlo."
He will be performing at Venue Cymru on October 9 at 7.30pm, tickets priced £15.50-£17. To book call 01492 872000 or visit www.venue cymru.co.uk
