James Bond favourites will thrill at Llangollen Pavilion

ACTRESS Honor Blackman hosts a concert of James Bond music at this summer’s Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod.

The exhilarating music at the event – aptly called Licensed to Thrill – will be performed by the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera, conducted by Carl Davis.

The audience will be treated to a glittering evening of fabulous orchestral sounds and favourite melodies including Goldfinger, You Only Live Twice, and the iconic Bond Theme.

Evergreen Honor says: “The Bond music is very good. When you see the pictures (James Bond movies) you’re not actually concentrating on the music. It just assists the emotions as you go through.

“But when you hear them quite separately, it’s rather marvellous music. The stories attached to each one are quite interesting – who said what to whom, and when the Bonds changed. The public seems to love the show.”

The concert will culminate in a spectacular firework display as the finale to the Eisteddfod festival which runs from July 6-12. Singers Mary Carewe and Simon Bowman, both from West End stage and television roles, also perform.

Licensed to Thrill concert will be at Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, on Sunday, July 12, at 7.45pm. To buy tickets ring 01978 862001 or visit international-eisteddfod.co.uk
