Classic panto Snow White at Theatre Colwyn is a fun-filled festive treat for everyone

PANTO Snow White arrives at Theatr Colwyn later this month.

The cast starts full time rehearsals this week and are looking forward to entertaining audiences in Colwyn Bay during the festive season.

We caught up with John Cooper, who plays the huntsman, and Daniel Creasey, who plays dame Sarah Spoilit.

John explained the panto was very much a family show which would be familiar to those who had seen the classic Disney adaptation.

“I play the huntsman who takes Snow White into the forest to kill her, while under the spell of the wicked Queen, but he comes out of the spell just in time and tells her to run off where she meets the dwarves,” said John.

“The panto is very similar to the Disney story, there are songs from Disney in there. The kids will love it.

“At the end of the show we get the kids on stage and we will throw sweets into the audience – marshmallows these days because of health and safety!

“And there’s lots of booing and hissing too. It’s a really affordable fun night out over Christmas, a great experience for the kids and a great introduction to the theatre and a top notch panto.”

Fellow cast member Daniel Creasey is playing Sarah Spoilit and also looks forward to the show.

“The show is going to be fantastic, it is scripted by a very well-established panto company,” he said.

“We start rehearsals on Friday. The theatre is all on one level and when it is full the atmosphere is fantastic.”
