POLICE are offering motorcycle courses to the public in a bid reduce the number of motorbike casualties in North Wales.
Statistics show motorcyclists are amongst the most vulnerable of road users and the course is designed to enhance riding skills in order to try to cut the number of biker deaths.
North Wales has some of the best biking roads in Britain but last year 13 bikers died on North Wales roads and many more were involved in accidents.
Training will be given by North Wales Police advanced motorcycle instructors, who are also registered with the Driving Standards Agency to provide post-test motorcycle training, which will be carried out at St Asaph Business Park.
The two three-day courses are available to groups of up to three people or on a one-to-one basis and are being held between Monday, August 18 and Friday, August 22 and Tuesday, August 26 to Friday, August 29. Courses are available to those who hold a full licence, and those who successfully complete the course may qualify for a discount of between 15% to 17% from major insurance companies.
Anybody interested in enrolling on the course, or wanting further information, should contact Wendy Lloyd on 01745 539092 or e-mail wendy.lloyd@north-wales.police.uk
