CHILDREN and their families are being encouraged to cut down on plastic bag use by a gift voucher scheme at Asda in Llandudno.
The Go Green scheme gives vouchers to customers who choose to reuse their old carriers or not use a plastic bag at all.
Last year a number of local schools signed up for the 10-week scheme and this year many more have joined. Schools collecting the vouchers can redeem them against educational eco-equipment ranging from grow beds to pocket microscopes, solar panels, and remote camera bird tables.
