PENRHYN ARMS A maintained top spot in the Worthington Llandudno and District Summer Darts League after a hard-fought 5-4 win at Rhos Golf Club that saw all but one of the singles going to the third deciding leg and no less than four maximum 180s scored on the night, reports Arthur Williams.
Nevill Hotel keep up their challenge in second spot after another good performance at the Jacks Club while the Malt Loaf bounced back to beat old rivals Pen-y-Bryn B.
Title hopefuls Pen Arms B took the points over the Maelgwyn to top Division Two and are closely followed by Crosville Club who were comfortable 7-2 winners over Mountain View.
British Legion are also closing up after a narrow 5-4 result at Town House and the Division Three top-of-the-table clash between Cricket Club and the Links Hotel saw Carl Wedge’s side nick a best-of-nine thriller.
Malt Loaf B also stayed in touch with an 8-1 win over Pen-y-Bryn A.
Next Tuesday sees the 2011 summer league individual championships at the British Legion Club and the league extends best wishes to Jim Dorenbos and Sam Bradley, who are competing in the BDO Gold Cup pairs at the famous Lakeside Club.

SEMAPHORE LODGE stay top of Gwalia Summer Darts League’s Division One thanks to a convincing 6-1 win over Victoria Club C, helped by a 108 outshot from Chris Day
Marine Hotel are just two points behind after they won a last-game decider to beat Colwyn Bay Legion A at the Marine, with the help a maximum 180 from captain Phil Smith and Clwb-y-Gornel were 3-1 behind at home against the Dulas Arms, but came back with a 180 from Chris Smith to clinch a 4-3 result.
Central Hotel and Royal Hotel C are separated by an aggregate of only four legs at the top of Division Two after both teams recorded 4-3 successes.
Central used home advantage to edge out Ship Hotel Rhos B, as did Royal Hotel C against Anglers Sea Club.
Colwyn Bay Legion B moved off the bottom of the table thanks to 4-3 home win over five-man Royal Hotel who had to concede the final two games in a 4-3 outcome and Wetherspoons lost 6-1 at home against the Prince Madoc, Darren Williams their sole winner.
The final rounds of the Ken Evans Memorial Open pairs competition are being staged at Colwyn Bay Legion on Thursday, July 21.
The games will be 501, best of three legs with semi-final and final will be best of five legs.
Draw to be completed on the night, and all pairs must be present no later than
8-15pm.
THE next summer competition run by Abergele Darts League will be on Monday, July 11, at the Castle.
All players should be at the venue for 8pm with an £2 entry fee going to charity.
