SEVEN Abergele Harriers joined a field of 180 runners to take part in the annual Caernarfon 10km road race last Sunday.
The race incorporates the North Wales 10km Championships and the Harriers were rewarded with five championship medals.
Jeni Richards took overall championship silver, Darren Blazier took overall championship bronze and category gold and both Grahame Shone and Christine Birch won category golds.
Blazier was first Harrier home in 36m 25s for fourth position in the open race, third overall in the championships and first MV35 in both the open race and the championship.
Andy Simpson ran a superb personal best of 41m 29s for 25th position overall and third in the highly competitive MV40 category.
Graham Shone finished in 42m 39s for 32nd position overall, 2nd MV60 in the open race and first MV60 in the championship.
Mark Mayers clocked a personal best of 43m 04s for 39th place overall.
Jeni Richards ran 44m 59s for 49th position, third lady overall, second lady in the championship and second FV45 in the open race.
Christine Birch recorded 47m 15s for 71st overall and 1st FV60 in both the open race and the championships.
Anwen Begley completed the course in 1h 10m to round off another great day of running for the Harriers.
Geran Hughes was amongst 200 competitors taking part in the Llanrwst Triathlon on Sunday. He completed the 400m swim, 30k cycle and a 5k run in 1hr 34m.
Josh Dixon ran 15mins 44secs for fourth position overall and second U23 in the Swansea 5k Welsh Championships the previous week.
Ed Reid took to the fells to compete in the Harrock Hill Race at Parbold in Lancashire. Reid ran the 5.3 mile race with a 900ft ascent in just 42m 44s. Closer to home Darren Blazier joined 187 midweek runners in the fast and flat Capenhurst 5k completing the distance in 17m 15s for 17th position.
The annual Ras Fawr Llanddoged 12.5km road race along the lanes of Llanddoged village in the Conwy Valley is on this Sunday (11.30am).
Entries are accepted on the day and registration is from 10am at the village school. Runners must be over 16.
