DEGANWY rower Rebecca Chin continues to make major ripples in her now primary sport.
She recently raced in Manchester at the Agecroft Small Boats Head for the Royal Chester Rowing Club. The racing was on the canal right next to Old Trafford where Manchester United were playing that day.
In the morning, the 17- year-old competed in the J18 single scull which she won with a time of 13.19.88 minutes over the 3050m course.
"My time was the fourth fastest women’s time of the day which I was really happy with because it was a really high standard race and the fastest woman athlete of the day was Olympian Olivia Whitlam," said Rebecca.
In the afternoon the local athlete raced in a J18 Royal Chester quad which her team won in 12.02.32, finishing 12th out of 72 boats of mixed crews.
Last weekend Rebecca was invited to the Great Britain under-23 trials in Boston.
"My coaches are pleased that I’ve got to the trials after only one year in the sport," she added.
