ABERGELE Swimming Club gave it their best shot at this year’s junior development meet at Llandudno swimming centre – and it certainly paid off.
Chloe Merrison came home with the first place trophy in the 11-year-old girls section while setting PBs in all events.
The event was also a great opportunity for Abergele’s youngsters to shine in their very first full day gala.
In the eight-year-old girls category, Erin Botham brought home a very well deserved second place, while Rhian Jones gained fifth swimming exceptionally well. Sean Williams also did well in the eight-year-old boys.
Ceri Williams swam brilliantly, achieving PB’s in all five events earning her a second place overall in the 10-year-old girls, also Lily Hughes, 10, swam impressively to finish sixth.
George Hopkins, 12, also set a PB as did Ioan Wellsbury, 12, who was placed ninth in his age group.
Connor Fox, Gethin Jones and Jamie Travis all swam home excellently with some very respectful times and setting PB’s.
Gele take part in the Welsh National Swim League this weekend.
LLANDUDNO Amateur Swimming Club took part in the Conwy Whitsun Meet and enjoyed great success, totalling 31 golds, 26 silvers and 14 bronze as well as a staggering 41 personal best times.
