Motor sport: Fourth place for Penmaenmawr karter

James Singleton had a hard battle in the final of the third round of the national Formula Kart Stars championship, which was staged at Glan-y-gors Park in Cerrigydrudion.

After a bad start from fifth place slipping to eighth in a 20-lap final the 13-year-old Ysgol Aberconwy student fought his way back to third.

This result takes Penmaenmawr’s James, who drives for Coles racing, from seventh place to fourth in the drivers championship.

The next round is Rowha in Cumbria on June 27 and 28.
