BEN BROWN came from three down with four holes to play to win on the last green as Penmaenmawr inflicted a shock first defeat of the season on Division One leaders Conwy A in the Bayonet Winter Scratch Golf League.

After pulling one back at the 15h he birdied the 16th after hitting the pin from 160 yards with his second shot and then won the 17th and 18th with pars for a crucial win against Steve Evans.

David Williams also came from three down to force a half against Mark Ellison, while Ashley Carr won 1up on the last against Nick Lofthouse and Paul Williams beat Jeff Evans 4 and 3.

Ady Johnson got Conwy’s only win against Clive Brown.

That results leaves Conwy seven points clear at the top, although Holyhead and Royal St David’s now both have a match in hand after their fixture was postponed due to a Holyhead bereavement.
