Bowls: Deganwy man top of the averages

PETER JONES of Deganwy went top of the Division 1 averages in the Welsh Counties Bowling League with a 21-8 win last week, although it couldn’t save his side from a 6-4 defeat at Sunny Rhyl.

They shared the games 4-4, but lost the aggregate 145-136.

Colwyn Bay RBL had single figure wins from Chris Slater and A Evans (both 21-9) as they beat Esclusham.

In Division Two, there was a first defeat for leaders Rhos Park at Llanfairpwll where Andy Bray also suffered his first defeat of the season, losing 21-7 to Elfyn Jones.

Min-y-Don are up to third after thumping Llanfairpwll Village 9-1, with John Davies and Andy Clayton their top winners on 21-11, and are only five points behind second-placed Llanfairpwll with a match in hand.
