Darts: Jake Yates in fine form for Penrhyn Arms A

JAKE YATES of the Penrhyn Arms A team was in great form in the latest round of matches in the Worthington’s Llandudno and District Darts League, reports Arthur Williams.

Yates scored a 180, recorded a 15-dart leg and went out on 110 in the leaders’ 7-2 victory at Bron Eryri which keeps them top of Nevill Hotel Premier One.

Last week’s matches were again of high standard with five maximums registered and for the second week running, Graham Williams of the Links Hotel and Ray Hender of the Legion both hit low checkouts in their games of round the board.

In Links Hotel Division One, there was another disappointing week for leaders Labour Club B who were beaten 6-3 at home by Cricket Club B.

Although Labour are still top on legs won, their one-time six-point lead is now down to nothing with Links and Cricket B both joining them on 21.

Cricket B, captained by Carl Wedge, are more than worthy to be tying for the leadership and with Links also going well, the title race is looking like a potential thriller.

There was a nine-darter scored by father and son Chas and Chris Johnston in the doubles game for their RAOB B team in Division One.

Meanwhile, in Premier One, Penrhyn Arms A are still three points clear after their win at Bron Eryri.

Tafarn-y-Garrog returned to winning ways with a 7-2 result at Penrhyn Arms B to stay on the Arms A’s tail.
