MOLD 34 COLWYN BAY 12
Division One North
COLWYN Bay returned from Chester Road on the back of a disappointing 34-12 defeat at the hands of high fliers Mold.
The home side dominated the opening exchanges and went 10-0 at the break with a try from prop Aaron Jones, which was converted by centre Dan Edmunds, who also added a penalty.
Scrum-half Richie Hopkins crossed for the first of his hat- trick of tries for Mold which Edmunds again converted, before the Bay hit back when skipper Bryn Williams drove over for a try and Tom Williams added the extras.
Dan Edmunds the added a penalty to extend Mold’s lead, while Hopkins added a further two tries, both converted by Edmunds to seal the win.
But the Bay, led by manager Mark Earl (pictured above), never gave in and in the final few minutes grabbed a late unconverted consolation try through Ben Evans.
