Football: Deganwy go top of the Caernarfon League

DEGANWY took over top spot in the Gwynedd Safeflue Caernarfon and District League Division Two in some style on Saturday by blitzing previous leaders Bethesda Athletic Reserves 5-2 at Hotpoint.

Although Mattie Jones gave Pesda the lead on the half hour, Tom Roberts levelled two minutes later, making it 1-1 at half time.

After the break Deganwy really came into their own, Roberts completing a double, Chris Lloyd adding another two and James Parker completing the scoring.

Although Kevin Roberts notched a late reply for the visitors this was Deganwy’s day.

The win puts the Castlemen on top of Division Two on goal difference ahead of Barmouth & Dyffryn.
