Football: Mochdre Sports make no mistake in cup tie

MOCHDRE Sports stormed into the second round of the NWCFA Intermediate Cup by thrashing Llanfairfechan Town of the Gwynedd League 5-0.

Joe Jennings (50 and 75 minutes), Kyle Johnson (58 and 65) and Adam Henley (72) with a 35-yard volley shared the glory for Mochdre whose goals all arrived in the second half.

Jack Roberts’ 90th minute goal ensured Glan Conwy progressed 2-1 at the expense of Llandyrnog United.

David Davies gave Dyrny a 23rd minute lead before Lee Hughes levelled after 70 leaving the stage open for Roberts to apply the coup de grace.

Intermediate Cup round three draw (ties to be played on or before November 28): Gwalchmai v Rhyl or Caernarfon Wanderers, Abergele Rovers v Glan Conwy, Bodedern Athletic v Denbigh Town, Gaerwen v Beaumaris, Greenfield v Flint Town Utd, Penmaenmawr Phoenix or Porthmadog v Mochdre Sports,

Rhuddlan Town v Prestatyn Town, Holyhead Hotspur v Llanystumdwy.

NWCFA Junior Cup round three (to be played on or before November 14): Trearddur Bay Utd v Bethesda Athletic, Holywell Town v Mynydd Llandygai, Point of Ayr v Pwllheli, Penrhyndeudraeth v Bro Cernyw, Mountain Rangers v Bangor City, Meliden v Betws yn Rhos, Wepre Rangers v Rhyl Athletic, Rhos Utd v Y Felinheli.
