DYFFRYN ABC held an outstanding show of boxing at Llandudno Junction Labour Club, with some excellent young fighters taking part.
In the first bout of the night Llandudno’s 10- year-old Luke Edwards won a close decision against home club boxer Kyle Mchugh.
Dyffryn’s Billy Edwards, 12, boxed outstandingly in his first contest to win a unanimous decision over Kyle Boothman of Clwyd in the second fight of the night, while D Mountford (Hulton Abbey Stoke) won unanimously over Dan Gethin (Welshpool).
Twelve-year-old Jarod Jones of Dyffryn lost a tight decision to Northside’s D Baraclough, while home club’s Joe Egan, 12, produced a display of superb counter-punching to win unanimously against Kyle Fairfax (Northside), his performance also winning him the Best Boxer of the evening.
H Pritchard (Newtown) took a majority decision over Joe Jones (Towy), while Dyffryn’s Welsh finalist Lee Quinn endured an off-night and dropped a unanimous decision to Calum Cooke (Northside).
In his first contest, 22- year-old Jake Cordell of Dyffryn won by a third round stoppage against Dan Herbert (Clwyd), while another Dyffryn debutant 26-year-old Gary Rowlands won his middleweight bout by unanimous decision over Craig Jones of Wrexham.
Llandudno’s Charlie Dain was knocked down in the first round against Newtown’s John Flower, but came back to earn majority verdict over the mid-Wales man.
The final bout saw middleweight crowd pleaser Luke Bannister win a majority call over Joe Jones (Towy).
