ONLY two Abergele Harriers were in competitive action at the weekend when Alan Lucas ran his 18th Snowdon Marathon and Alison Guillemin made a return to racing after an 18-month break on Sunday.
Lucas completed the Snowdon course in 5hrs 9mins 24secs for seventh overall in the MV65 category, while the following day Guillemin made a very welcome comeback, completing the Rhyl Cancer Research 10k in 54.48.
This Sunday sees the 23rd running of the Abergele Five road race, which starts from St George’s Road and finishes in Abergele Leisure Centre, having run through the grounds of Kinmel Manor Hotel on the way back from St George.
The race starts at 1pm with entries accepted on the day right up to 12.30pm.

The club would also like to thank Abergele Town Council, North Wales Police and Wales and West Utilities who once again supported the race this year.
All Harriers are asked to help on the day, and are particularly reminded that the Marshall’s Meeting takes place at 12 noon at the Slaters Caravan in the car park of Emrys Ap Iwan.
Six members of Abergele-based running club the Mysteruns tackled the testing Snowdonia Marathon. in horrendous conditions.
Leading the Mysteruns home was John Ford in 3-23 for 71st overall.
Alan Taylor used the event as preparation for the Nice to Cannes Marathon in two weeks and came home 298th in 3-50.
John Humphries was 502nd in 4- 05, in 610th was Anne Marie Huxley in 4-13, Jeremy Bright, still feeling the effects of the Amsterdam half marathon, managed 4-15 (640th) and Peter Lester Owen, in his first race back after his hernia operation, was 954th overall in 4-40.
