Football: Llandudno Junction FC reserves thump Rhyl

JAMES SHONE notched a second half hat-trick as Llandudno Junction whipped Rhyl 3-0 in the Black Dragon Badges Reserve Premier League.

Shone broke the deadlock two minutes into the second half and then added two more in the last five minutes.

Glan Conwy were a proud team after ending Prestatyn Town’s 100% record.

After seven straight wins, the leaders were held 1-1 by Glan, who trailed to Chris Davies’ 14th minute strike but levelled through Lee Hughes on 59.

In the North Wales Intermediate Cup round one, Llandudno put up a good fight against Clwyd Premier high flyers Abergele Rovers before losing to an 89th minute James Davies goal.

Cerrigydrudion lost 4-2 at Meliden in the NWCFA Junior Cup round two, Osian Roberts and Richard Lloyd (pen) their scorers.
