Netball: Colwyn Sports too good for Mold Ravens

COLWYN Sports overcame Mold Ravens 46-31 in division one of the North East Wales Netball League last week.

Although Mold only lost one game last season while Colwyn had to go into the play-offs to save their first division status, the Bay were much the stronger on the night.

Colwyn started well and with PoM Katherine Evans in excellent form at GS they won the first quarter 10-4.

The second quarter went Sports’ way too, a 15-8 outcome making it 25- 12 at half time.

Ravens raised their game in the next segment and with Gwen Gwillian starting to impose herself only lost it 11-13 (38-23).

Mold had a real go in the final stanza and held Colwyn to 8-8 but the final verdict went comfortably to Sports.
