Bay lads flop in cup

COLWYN Bay Cricket Club’s youngsters failed to find their best form in the Welsh Cup knockout finals at the weekend.

In the Under-13s semi-finals Colwyn were bowled out for 78 and then saw opponents Gowerton pass the winning post on 79-5.

Colwyn went into the third-fourth place play-off with Carmarthen but unfortunately fared even worse.

After Carmarthen set a challenging 152-4, the North Walians were dismissed for a mere 51.

“It was a very disappointing weekend,” said Colwyn Bay youth development officer Ally Pitman, naming Simon Hoerner as player of the weekend.
