STRUGGLING Deganwy Ventilation pulled off only their second victory of the season in the North Wales Coast League Section A in some style by inflicting a resounding 12-2 caning on hosts Rhos Park B.
This latest blow means that promoted Rhos remain rooted to the foot of the table having lost all seven matches so far, while heavy rain wiped out the scheduled matches at Beaumaris and Llanrwst.
Promoted Blaenau Ffestiniog rocked leaders Colwyn Bay’s championship ambitions by inflicting a surprise 9-5 defeat on the previously unbeaten pacemakers.
Barry John Hughes 21-8 was Blaenau’s best winner and although experienced Wales international Jason Jones carded a 21-7 for Legion it was not enough to avert a blow to their title challenge, although Bay do stay top.
Rhos Park A came away 8-6 winners at second-from-top St Asaph to enhance their ambitions to the crown.
Steve Lawley and Andy Bray both pulled off 21-12 wins to tip the verdict as Kris Fearnley 21-7 took Saints close.
Llanfairpwll continue to set a ferocious pace in Section B and remain out front after notching yet another double-figure victory with a 12-2 drubbing of visitors Craig-y-don.
Fron Park were not far behind with an 11-3 defeat of Rhuddlan while Denbigh A sank Conwy 10-4. The matches at Bethesda and Dyserth were both rained off.
There were no fixtureS in Sections C or D but a full programme will resume this Saturday.
