Success for Abergele Harriers

ABERGELE Harriers scored 680 points to stay well clear of the relegation positions in Division One of the Borders Road Running League when the fourth round was held at Caernarfon last Sunday.

Josh Dixon was the club’s first runner home in 34mins 27secs, finishing second in the Under-20 category, with team captain Darren Blazier not far behind in 14th place overall.

Tim Cahill finished second male over-45 (18th overall) to consolidate third place overall in that age category, while Dewi Roberts was first male over-40 on the day (22nd overall).

Abergele times were: Josh Dixon 34.27, Darren Blazier 35.45 (14th), Tim Cahill 37.35 (18th), Dewi Roberts 36.54 (22nd), Geran Hughes 38.16 (40th), Grahame Shone 40.45 (71st), Keith Elliott 41.16 (101st), Ed Reid 43.11, Mark Mayers 46.31 (147th), Peter Hardy 47.01 (149th), Alan Lucas 49.40 (160th), John Essary 51.10 (168th).

The Abergele club’s runners, who held their 2008 presentation night this week, are next in action in the fourth round of the Grand Prix Express Cross Country League in Wrexham on January 17.
