COLWYN BAY have completed the signing of former Rhyl record goalscorer Andy Moran on a month's loan from Fleetwood Town and are hoping to get international clearance through in time for him to be involved in Saturday's tough away trip to Durham City.
Moran scored 47 goals in the 2003/4 season when Rhyl won the treble of Welsh Premier, Welsh Cup and League Cup, and had hit 99 goals in 148 games for the Belle View Club before being sold to Fleetwood Town for a four figure fee last season.
He has been struggling for form for the Blue Square Conference side, however, and is hoping he can regain his goal touch by dropping down a couple of divisions.
"Andy is a great goalscorer and I am sure he will do well at our level and will increase competition for places up front," said Seagulls manager Steve Pope.
Another boost for the team is that midfielder Steve Aspinall looks likely to be fit after shaking off an ankle injury, but the Bay are going to be without goalkeeper Farai Jackson for at least four weeks with a torn groin muscle suffered in last Saturday's 2-1 win over Garforth Town.
"I feel very sorry for Jacko because he has worked hard to earn the number one spot on merit and has done well. He is a fantastic shot stopper and we just hope the injury heals quickly."
The manager has Matt Parry and recently signed Chris Senna from Chester City in competition as replacement, but is leaving a decision on his final line-up until an hour before the kick off.
