CLIVE GRIFFITHS is confident his RGC 1404 side are continuing to grow as a team and are looking forward to making it three wins in September against top University opposition.
RGC host Liverpool University at Eirias Park next Wednesday (7.30pm) for the third of September’s ‘Varsity fixtures’ on the back of an impressive 29-12 win over Leeds Met.
And Griffiths is looking forward to another tough test, saying: "We are growing as a team every week, and as we are a young side we only get better and better and we look forward to ending the month in style with another win against Liverpool University."
Tries from Tom Holloway, Kelvin Davies, Marcus Holden and Andrew Baston ensured victory over Leeds Met, and Griffiths added: "It was a tale of missed chances in the first half but after re- grouping at half-time we put in a powerful second half.
"Andrew Baston put in a fantastic captain’s performance and although Leeds were organised and showed enthusiasm they never breached our defence.
"We are growing as a team every week and with a young squad we can only get better.
"The talent is here in North Wales and we will keep going round the clubs to find new players who want to play for RGC 1404."
