LLANDUDNO look favourites to extend their unbeaten run to five games when they travel to Llanidloes this Saturday in their final game ahead of their next week’s big Swalec Cup clash against Ebbw Vale.
They had the better of the forward exchanges in a closely-fought win against Denbigh last weekend, particularly at the lineouts where second row Matt Jones and No 8 James Salt won most of their own and some of the visitors’ lineout ball.
Llandudno led 14-10 at half-time with the first of two tries by man of the match prop Danny Barlow and an outstanding individual try by centre James Gregson, who broke from within his own half with a weaving run which wrong-footed a number of defenders to touchdown under the posts.
Rhodri Carlton Jones added both conversions, while Denbigh replied with a try by full- back Dafydd Cartwright and a penalty and conversion from Llion Edwards.
Llandudno controlled most of the second half, keeping play well inside the Denbigh half, and added further tries through James Salt and Danny Barlow, plus one conversion from Rhodri Carlton Jones.
Denbigh replied with three penalties by Llion Edwards.
