Darts: All the latest news from Conwy county

MAL MULLIN of the Kings Arms and Mark Gerrard of Crosville Club were worthy winners of the Worthington Llandudno and District Darts League Blind Pairs Draw at the Royal British Legion last week.

In the best-of-five-leg final Mullin and Gerrard overcame Sam Bradley of the Penrhyn Arms and Labour Club’s Steve Parry 3-2. A total of 54 players supported the event.

TEAMS in the Gwalia Winter Darts League squared off in the first round of the William Thomas Memorial Competition last week.

Colwyn Bay Legion A defeated the Sun Inn 6-1 at the Park Hotel, helped by a nine-dart game from Ron Butterworth.

At the Sun Inn, Semaphore overcame Wings Social Club 6-1, and at Colwyn Bay Legion, Central Hotel won the first game, but lost 5-1 to Park.

At Wetherspoons, Ship Hotel B O/C were 2-1 behind against six-man Ship Hotel Rhos B, but won the next five to celebrate a 6-2 result.

Valentine failed to raise a team giving Wetherspoons a 5-0. No result cards received fromVictoria Club C v Royal Hotel and the Mountain View Hotel v The Estuary. Boathouse Social Club received a bye.

PARK Hotel A increased their lead at the top of the Colwyn Bay Legion sponsored Gwalia Winter Darts League’s first division after a decisive 9-3 win against the Victoria Club C.

Colwyn Bay Legion A, for whom Warren Tansley threw an 11-darter, defeated Semaphore Lodge 7-5. Ship Hotel B O/C outscored Mochdre Sports Club 7-5.

In the second division leaders The Estuary edged past Sun Inn 7-5 helped by a 12-dart game from Mark Berry.

In second place Wings Social Club thrashed the Mountain View Hotel 9-3. Royal Hotel won three doubles games against The Valentine to clinch a 7-5 outcome. No result from Wetherspoons v Ship Hotel Rhos B.

IN the Royal British Legion Llanrwst sponsored Conwy Valley Darts League, Gags Jones (Dolgarrog Social Club) threw a 14-dart leg in his team’s 7-2 win over Giler Arms. Foelas A went top of the table with an 8-1 win over Queens and Red Lion are second after a 7-2 triumph at Foelas B.
