THREE breaks of more than 50 were the highlight of the week in the Gap-Personnel Thursday Snooker League, while Crosville B staged an excellent fightback from 3-0 down to ensure a 3-3 draw with defending champions Cricket Club B.
Llan Cons A are new leaders, taking over at the top from their B side after beating them 5-1.
Rich King was the only winner for the B side with a 70-40 victory over John Handcock, but wins for Steve Czapski, Phil Hughes, Ian Fitton, Dave Philips and Gwyn Morgans ensured the win for the A side.
After being 3-0 down against defending champions Cricket Club B, Crosville B did well to come back and ensure the points were shared.
Rosie Williams made a 51 break in his win, while Wayne Noble (43) and Tony Kearney (50 and 33) both saw the champs into the lead. But wins for Darryl Jones, Chris Lloyd and Keith Rawlinson saw Crosville claim the draw.
Cricket Club A claimed a 5-1 win over Crosville A with Dyfrig Thomas winning an entertaining quick potting game against Sean Oliver. Both of these excellent players are very open and good to watch.
Andy Bray won a close match with last year’s averages winner Brian Mercer after the help of a fluked blue which left Mercer needing a snooker which he never recovered from.
Penmaenmawr were 4-2 winners at home over Legion B, with the highlight of the match being Mike Wilson’s performance. His break-building and form is very strong and he took just three scoring visits to rack up a 108-32 win. Wilson is continuing the form he finished with last year – excellent breaks of 20, 54 and 34 were too much for George Bartlett to cope with.

LABOUR Club had a fantastic result in the Wednesday Snooker League against last year’s champions Crosville easily beating them 4-1, thanks to wins for Dave Ebbrell, Brian Sillitto, Pat Boylan and Andy Wilson, who beat nine time individual champion Martin Richardson. Chris Black replied with a win for Crosville.
Llandudno Legion kept up their good start by beating Conwy Golf Club 3-2, with from Dave Evans (24 and 17 breaks), Kev Williams and Gaz Evans. Conwy’s wins came from Tim Hughes and Trevor Jones.
Mochdre B came out on top in the local derby, wins by Stuart Jones, captain Paul Buckley and Gareth Coleman, while John Pratt and Gareth Lloyd responded for the A team.
Penmaenmawr won a game they thought they had lost. On the night the Malt Loaf won 3-2, but due to playing two unregistered players, Penmaenmawr were awarded the game 5-0, with the Malt being deducted a further point for breaching rule 13.
