LLANDUDNO 0 BUCKLEY TOWN 0
DEFENCES ruled in a well-contested end of season clash which featured few chances for either side.
Llandudno will be disappointed not to have finished their home league fixtures on a winning note, but they were up against an in- form Buckley.
Tudno, who are targeting a top six finish in the Huws Gray Alliance, will complete their campaign with trips to Rhydymwyn this Saturday and Ruthin Town seven days later.
Saturday’s tussle at Maesdu Park did not feature much goalmouth action as both keepers were rarely tested other than to deal with corners which both did with ease – not surprising given that arguably the two best in the league were between the sticks.
Buckley staged a good finish, but substitute Nathan Pugh’s curled shot did not have the venom to beat Paul Whitfield in the Llandudno goal.
Then a quick interchange of passes at halfway saw Wes Brereton break through the Seasiders’ defence and bear down on goal.
He cut slightly right and fired in a shot from the edge of the box but again Whitfield denied Buckley the lead with a finger-tip save to turn the ball away for a corner.
