Football: Craven hits late winner for battling Llandudno FC

LLANDUDNO came from behind three times to pull off a tremendous 4-3 victory at Welsh Premier NEWI Cefn Druids in a friendly on Tuesday night.

And that should put the squad in good heart for Saturday’s big game against Huws Gray Cymru Alliance leaders Llangefni Town at Maesdu Park (2.30pm).

New signings from Colwyn Bay Luke O’Mahoney and Neil Coverley both played part of the game on Tuesday and did well, while Ben Dews played a full 90 minutes on his return to the side.

"We have got a few selection headaches for Saturday now because we took 19 players to Cefn Druids last night and a few of them have staked a claim for a place – but that is just what we want," said joint manager Grant Montgomery yesterday.

"Llangefni are going well at the moment but we badly need a big home performance against them," he added.

Cefn Druids led three times at Plaskynaston Lane on Tuesday night, but Llandudno hit back each time with two goals from Gwyn Peters and one from Gaz Evans, before Leigh Craven won the match with the fourth 10 minutes from the end.
