COLWYN BAY produced an outstanding second half display to win 4-2 away to Conference North side Vauxhall Motors on Tuesday night.

After taking an early lead with a Steve Aspinall penalty, after Karl Frost had been fouled in the box,  and missing a great chance to got 2-0 up when Robbie Williams headed over from six yards, the Seagulls conceded two goals in the space of four minutes as Ged Brennan volleyed into the top corner of the net  from a corner and then Tom Rooneyscored after a sustained spell of home pressure.

But Colwyn Bay then switched to a 4-4-2 formation and looked much more confortable, with Frost, who looked really lively up front, bursting onto a ball over the top to round keeper Aidan Dickinson for the equaliser.

In the second half Colwyn Bay took the home side apart  at times with their pace and power up front.

Rob Hopley was unlucky to have a goal ruled out by a late linesman's flag after substitutes  Jamie McIntosh and Matty Wood had set up the chance, but that  only delayed the inevitable.

Minutes later Hopley burst powerfully past defender Chris Noone and rounded the keeper before rifling a fierce shot into the back of the net.

Aspinall got his second of the game on 82 minutes with a 30 yard screamer after McIntosh, who also looked good when he came on, had had a shot blocked on the edge of the area.

Vauxhall strived to get something back in the dying minutes, but Farai Jackson made a tremendous save to keep out a shot from Anthony Wright.

Manager Steve Pope commented: "We have so much pace and power now up front that when we get it right like we did tonight, teams won't live with us."
