LLANDUDNO were crowned champions of the North Wales Cricket League Premier Division for the fifth successive season on Saturday when they thrashed Chirk by nine wickets at Holyhead Road.
After winning the toss Chirk elected to bat first and were bowled out in the 39th over for 121.
Tudno paceman Jack Rimmington finished up with 4-22 off 12.4 overs and passed 50 league wickets for the summer at 22.74 apiece, while Luke Regan scooped 4- 34 and Ajay Dhawan 2-17.
After a careful look at the bowling Llandudno openers Steve Smith and Duncan Midgley began to push for the win.
Smith was out in the 18th over with the score on 104 having scored 36, but Midgley remained undefeated on 74 as Tudno coasted to 122-1.
The skipper hit 13 in the 20th over to win the game 24- 0 on points and put Llandudno in an unassailable position. The Seasiders are now on course to win the title by a record margin with two matches left to play.
After Monday’s victory over Llanrwst, the five-time titlists were a massive 136 points clear at the summit.
