BOTH Steve Smith and Sam Rimmington notched half-centuries as North Wales League Premier Division leaders Llandudno claimed a four-wicket win in a tense affair at Hawarden Park.
The hosts opted to bat first and were soon in trouble on 20-3, but an admirable 96 not out from Campbell Marr eventually enabled Park to post 193- 6 declared off 50 overs.
Jack Rimmington picked up 2-26 for Tudno who must have felt relatively confident of making 194 on a traditionally good batting wicket.
In reply, skipper Duncan Midgley went for 11, but then Smith (58) and Sam Rimmington (63) put on 111 for the second wicket.
Wickets then fell quickly as the champions suffered a small blip in the middle order before Kevin James (33 not out) and Luke Regan led the visitors to 196-6 off 48.2 overs and a 23-8 points success.
Although there were no big scores for once in MOCHDRE’S batting line-up they still made enough runs to pick up a fine four-wicket win at Chirk.
Taking first knock, Chirk were soon rocking at 4-3 before Nick Flack transformed their fortunes with 106 and helped by smaller contributions and dropped catches the hosts declared on 242-9, Russ Boswell 4-55 and Matt Wouldes 4-87.
With 60 overs to make 243, Mochdre batted consistently throughout their innings. Captain Phil Dickson (49 not out), Will Evans (42), Gareth Davies (38), Wouldes (33) Gareth Goodson (24) and Steve Jones (23) saw the visitors to 243-6 in 57 overs.

Despite 96 from Ryan Heywood, LLANRWST were pipped by two wickets in a match against Bangor they looked to have won.
The Rwsters made first use of the Gwydir Park wicket and set 201-9, Heywood’s knock including 10 fours and two sixes, Trefor Williams and David Taylor both hitting 26 and Nathan Jones 25, but the rest of the batting failed with Bangor’s veteran spinner Peter Banham snaring 6-34 off 12 overs.
Bangor struggled in reply and slumped to 88-5 at one point before staring down the barrel at 161-8, but a vital 53 not out from Nicholas Roberts in a ninth- wicket stand of 42 with Banham (25 no) saw the visitors to 203-8, Trefor Williams 2-35.
Australian ace Trevor Bauer struck a senior career best 129 as ST ASAPH hammered Pontblyddyn by 100 runs at Elwy Grove Park.
The Melbourne magician slammed 15 fours and a six in his second ton of the campaign in Saints’ total of 243-6 declared off 54 overs after they won the toss and batted first.
Bauer figured in an opening stand of 90 with Gareth Jones (28) and skipper David North added a useful 38 not out, Glenn Chambers snaffling 3-44 for Pont.
Paul Fleming then pocketed 5-38 as the visitors were sent packing for 143, Mark Neath averting a total disaster with 58.
North grabbed 2-26 and Matthew Hulse 2-53 in one of Asaph’s most complete performances of the season to date.
