Cricket: Llandudno on course for title hat-trick

LLANDUDNO stayed on course for a hat-trick of North Wales Cricket League championships  and their fourth in five years with a 62-run victory at Connah's Quay .

 That puts them 14 points clear at the top of the Premier Division with two matches remaining.

 Steve Smith again led the way with the bat, top scoring with 77 in a Llandudno total of 229 for 9 declared, and Jack Rimmington then took 4 for 53 and Romain Grenville 3 for 63 as Connah's Quay were bowled out for 167 in reply to give Llandudno a 24-6 points victory.

MOCHDRE moved up to second place with a five-wicket victory over Bangor. Adam Campion top scored with 66 in a Mochdre total of 220 for 9 declared and Gareth Goodson took 4 for 35 as Bangor were dismissed for 188.

LLANRWST moved out of the bottom two with a crucial five-wicket victory against Mold, with Tarique Khan taking 4 for 27 as Mold were bowled out for 149 and Alwyn Williams scoring 54 not out as Llanrwst won on 151 for 5.

  There was also a six-wicket win for CONWY in Division Two after they bowled Ruthin out for 75.
