LLANDUDNO beat Mochdre by 77 runs in their top of the table clash on bank holiday Monday and have opened a 13 point lead at the top of the North Wales Cricket League's Premier Division table with three games to play.

After losing the toss and being put in, Llandudno opener Steve Smith scored 94 with seven fours and a six to help his side to 219 and 8 declared off 57.1 overs.

He put on 61 for the second wicket with skipper Aled Williams (30) and 41 for the third wicket with Elgan Williams (20).

Mochdre were in the hunt at 138 for 3 with 15 overs to go, but their last seven wickets fell for just five runs in a sensational collapse against the bowling of Llandudno brothers Jack and Sam Rimmington.

Jack finished with 5 for 42 off 12 overs while Sam had extraordinary figures of  6-5-4-3, bowling five consecutive maidens of which three were wicket maidens, as Llandudno took 20 points to Mochdre's four.

Menai Bridge, moved ahead of Mochdre into second place after their game at Bethesda was cancelled due to rain.
