Cricket: Glamorgan boost for Colwyn Bay

EARLY indications are that Glamorgan will be bringing first class cricket back to Colwyn Bay again next year, despite almost two full days being lost to the weather in last week’s drawn game against Middlesex.

The threatening weather meant attendances on the remaining days were down on the previous year, but although Glamorgan are cutting back on the number of Welsh grounds they visit, following refurbishment of their Cardiff headquarters, it is believed that fixtures at Swansea and Colwyn Bay will continue.

"We have to wait for confirmation once the current season is over, but we are hopeful that Glamorgan will be back next year," said Alun Pritchard of Conwy county borough council.
