James Hankin
JAMES Hankin’s green credentials have earned him a pat on the back from Conwy’s environment chief Mike Priestley, and a nomination for the Your Champions awards.
The 16-year-old Llandudno lad has struck out on a mission to save the planet, one plastic bottle at a time. James cleverly saw a gap in the market and set up a business saving recyclable waste from landfill.
By collecting plastics for recycling from Llandudno businesses with his bike and trailer, James has won the admiration of environmentalists in the county.
James said: "I am very pleased to have been nominated for this award. Since I was featured in the Weekly News I have had a lot more business from people who weren’t interested at first.
"I believe that looking after the environment is very important."
