Penmaenmawr pupils get cash boost for international eco project

PUPILS in Penmaenmawr are forging environmental links with Iceland thanks to a new scheme.

Students at Ysgol Capelulo are busy taking part in the Eco School Scheme which involves tree planting and workshops.

On Tuesday, Watkin Jones constructors donated £750 towards the project which aims to help pupils think green and globally from a young age.

Headteacher Glenda Morris said: “Raising awareness of sustainability issues is the key aim of this project. The pupils will develop their knowledge by providing workshops in schools partnered with a school in Iceland.

“It is hoped over 200 pupils will benefit from this project which will help guide their future decision on sustainability and looking after our planet.”
