A55 crash at Llanfairfechan

A THREE car crash caused delays for rush-hour traffic on the A55 at Llanfairfechan yesterday (Wednesday, October 22).

Police said the alarm was raised at 4.40pm after the three vehicles were involved in a RTC on the roundabout on the eastbound carriageway.

It is thought that a black BMW, silver Skoda and black Corsa were involved in the road traffic collision but no-one was seriously injured.

Fire crews from Llanfairfechan and Conwy were called and attended the scene to make the cars safe and an ambulance took casualties to Llandudno Hospital.

Onlookers Alison Jones and Lyn Jones, both from Llanfairfechan were watching long tail back of traffic from the foot bridge.

"We didn't actually see the accident happen but we have watched the traffic building up for the last 45 minutes," said Lyn Jones.

"I'm not sure if anyone has been hurt but the ambulance has been here for a long time.

"The fire engine has been paying particular attention to the black BMW which looks like its got a petrol leak," she added.

Long tailbacks of traffic were reported between Llanfairfechan and Abergwyngregyn, three miles away.
