TRIBUTES have been flooding in to a popular pub quizmaster who died suddenly last week.
Car and boat enthusiast Jonathan Williams used to host the weekly quizzes at the King’s Head pub on Llandudno’s Great Orme and had many friends.
Last Wednesday’s quiz at the pub was cancelled but regulars gathered together to remember Jonathan, said landlord Steven Reece.
“He will be sadly missed. He was honest, generous and very precise about everything he did and that was reflected in the questions he set. He was a really loveable guy,” said Steven.
The evening raised £220 which will be used to buy a wreath for the funeral, and the balance will go to Children in Need.
Dozens of tributes to property maintenance manager Jonathan have been posted on social networking site Facebook.
One read: “Jonathan, I can’t believe it, have only just heard. You were such a fab man to talk to and I can’t believe you are gone. Rest in peace, God Bless xxxxxxxxxx.”
And another: “I will miss our weekly chats at the quiz very much. You were so easy to talk to and I only wish I had known on Wednesday that I would not get the chance to speak to you again. You had a heart of gold. Your quizzes were legendary.”
Jonathan’s funeral is on Monday, December 13 at Colwyn Bay crematorium at 11.30am. Donations are to Children in Need.
