Cyclists want Christmas access at Llandudno prom

A BAN on cycling on Llandudno’s North Shore promenade should be lifted on Christmas Day, says a cyclists’ pressure group.

CTC Cymru has written to Conwy County Council asking that the rule be relaxed in the spirit of festive cheer.

“We formally request that the lifting of the embargo on promenade cycling be lifted for Christmas Day. This would enable those who have received gifts of bicycles to ride in congenial conditions not available elsewhere in the town.

“We further request that this arrangement continue until further notice to allow for a study of usage patterns during the quiet winter and spring conditions.

“This wouldŠassist any decision-making on additional signage etc to facilitate shared-use,” said CTC spokesman Roy Spilsbury.
