Eight arrested in Llandudno and Conwy drugs raids

POLICE officers swooped on nine properties in the Llandudno and Conwy area last week and made eight drugs related arrests.

Warrants were used to enter homes in Conway Road, Llandudno Junction, Belle Vue Terrace, Denness Place, Ffordd Elisabeth and Maes yr Orsedd in Llandudno, Heulfryn in Deganwy, Mona Road, Conwy, and Chapel Street, Penmaenmawr.

Seven men and a woman were arrested on suspicion of possession of controlled substances. Two have been charged with possession of Class A/ B drugs, three are on police bail, and three were cautioned.

"Officers from West Conwy undertook searches at a number of premises during which quantities of controlled drugs, cash and stolen property were recovered, and a number of enquiries are still ongoing,” said Insp Andy Broadhead.

“Communities are key to tackling drugs in our neighbourhoods and I’d urge anybody with any information regarding drugs to contact either Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or their local community beat manager.”

And he urged anyone with drug problems to seek professional help from their GP.

Cheshire Police said this week that a 16-year-old boy from Llandudno Junction was arrested in Chester on Saturday night and found to be in the possession of ecstasy. He was give a final warning which means that if he re-offends he will face a court appearance.
